What?
Now the world’s population has reached 7 billion, the demand for food is even more pressing. The question we need to ask now is: will there be enough food to feed 7 billion people?
Technically, there is, but still…

Why do 925 million people go to bed hungry every night?
- Our agricultural system is inefficient
- The effects of severe climate changes
- Escalating global food prices.
Do you know that, each year, 5 million children under the age of 5 die of malnutrition?
Why bother?
Without good nutrition, a malnourished child will become
- Stunted
- Underweight
- Vulnerable to diseases
- Intellectually and physically impaired
In short, the poor are hungry and their hunger traps them in poverty.
How Now? The way forward:
Nutritious food and micro-nutrients -
- Provide nutritional interventions for both mother and child
- Implement Vitamin A, Iron and Iodine supplements
Food Security through sustainable development -
- Help small scale farmers
- Improve access to land and water
- Provide far access to market
- Facilitating innovative farming techniques
Food aid – Emergency relief
- Effective distribution of emergency food reserves when disasters strike
