RELATED QUESTIONS: Why do we prefer contributions via credit card? Efficiency - Processing cheques/postal orders is time-consuming and labour intensive. It takes ten steps (collecting mail, sorting it in, keying in details, etc.) compared to three steps for credit card transactions. Credit card payments also help us to reduce our administrative cost. Convenience – Sponsors are spared the hassle of writing cheques/purchasing postal orders and mailing them to us. Bank charges – Currently, more than 50% of our sponsors contribute via credit card. Due to the high volume of transactions, we have successfully negotiated a discount in bank charges.
How secure are credit card transactions with World Vision? The security of our sponsors' information is very important to us, and we do take measures to safeguard credit card information in our care. For sponsors who sign up online, we email them a Credit Card Details form upon receipt of their Sign Up form. Credit card details are not transmitted via our website, nor stored online for security reasons. Furthermore, when you receive your credit card statement, you have the right to dispute any transaction that is unauthorised.
