Clean water, proper sanitation and good hygiene practices like handwashing are essential for children’s survival and development. Yet even today, there are around 2.4 billion people who do not use improved sanitation, and 663 million who do not have access to improved water sources.

This is why World Vision is dedicated to providing clean water and sanitation to every man, woman, and child in every community we work in. Globally, World Vision is able to provide clean water to one new person every 10 seconds. We also raise awareness on hygiene and sanitation while empowering local communities to run and maintain their water resources and sanitation facilities.

Impact facts

30,416 adults and children participated in awareness sessions and activities on water, sanitation and hygiene, covering topics like proper water storage and handwashing.
