Malnutrition contributes to 45% of child mortalities by putting children at a greater risk of preventable diseases like pneumonia and diarrhoea. In fact, 15,000 children under five die from mostly preventable causes every day. And those who survive may not achieve their full potential.

World Vision focuses on ensuring child and maternal health by promoting health and nutrition practices, improving health services and preventing major causes of disease.

Impact facts

In 2016, World Vision Malaysia was able to achieve the following with help from our supporters:

8,153 health workers and mothers participated in awareness and training sessions. Mothers learned about topics like measles prevention and breastfeeding, while health workers were trained to provide better health services.

34 nutrition clubs were supported, benefitting 2,094 mothers and 2,010 children.

How you can contribute to the Health & Nutrition Fund

Give RM35

Your contribution could improve the health of 1 child through improved feeding practices.
Give RM150
(One-time or Monthly)

Your contribution could help us to train 30 core health workers, who in turn would pass on their knowledge to other health workers.
Give any amount
(One-time or Monthly)

Your contribution would help improve child and maternal health in impoverished communities, allowing children to grow up healthy and well-nourished.

At World Vision, we seek to ensure that all resources entrusted to us are used as efficiently and effectively as possible. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent programme implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to equally important programmes that help children and families in need.
