World Vision #RunForChildren

This is a 7km charity run where participants run for the child on their runner’s bib. By taking part, you will advocate for children in need and help ensure that their rights are protected!

Date: 19 April 2020, Sunday
Flag off: 7am
Venue: Dataran DBKL 1, Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur (starting and finishing line)
Distance: 7km. There will be a child-friendly 2.5km route in addition to the 7km route

Terms and Conditions
  1. The World Vision Run is open to Malaysians, Malaysia PR Holders and Foreigners with a valid working permit.
  2. Once the registration form has been duly processed, it will be NON-TRANSFERABLE, NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-DEFERRABLE.
  3. Completion and submission of the registration form and payment of fees represents the participant’s agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of the World Vision Run.
  4. All entries are based on a first-come first-serve basis unless otherwise stated.
  5. All participants are required to bring and display their e-receipt and IC during runner’s kit collection.
  6. All kits must be collected one week before the day of the run.
  7. The Organiser reserves the right to close entries before deadline without any notice or when the quota for the run is met.

  9. It is compulsory for participants to display their bib at all time during the race. Failure to comply will result in the participants' disqualification from the race.
  10. Officials reserve the right to prevent a participant's continuation in the race should they fail to comply with the rules and regulations.
  11. During collection of the run t-shirt, changing t-shirt sizes is strictly NOT allowed. Participants must adhere to the run t-shirt sizes that they registered for.
  12. Participants must run on the designated path for the entire route. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
  13. While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure participants' safety, participants partake in this event at their own risk and the Organiser, its sponsors and its appointed officials shall not be liable for any death, injury, loss or damage suffered, howsoever arising.
  14. This is not a competitive race. As a participant, you are advised to run at your own pace.
  15. Please contact marshals or the medical team immediately should you feel unwell.
  16. Do not run or continue with the run if you feel unfit.
  17. Organisers reserve the right to prevent you from running at any point of the run should they find you unfit.
  18. Participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied at all times by an adult who is responsible for them. Participants therefore agree to take proper care of them; all safety issues are at your own risk.
  19. The Organiser has the right to cancel, postpone or change the venue, date, and time of this event. No refunds will be given if this event is cancelled on the orders of the Organiser due to unavoidable circumstances.
  20. If the weather does not permit (haze/heavy rain) the Organiser has the right to cancel the run.
  21. Participants under the age of 18 must seek parental or guardian consent before they register.
  22. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of the participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other recorded form of this event for any legitimate purposes, including commercial advertising.

  1. Who can sign up for World Vision’s #RunForChildren?

    The World Vision #RunForChildren is open to Malaysians, Malaysia PR Holders as well as Foreigners with a valid working permit. It is suitable for all ages but anyone under the age of 15 years should be accompanied by parents/guardians at all times.

  2. How much is it to sign up for the #RunForChildren?

    It is RM60 per participant, including children. Participants will get a runner’s kit with a unique runner’s bib, t-shirt and drawstring bag; you will get a medal after you complete the run.   3. Do you have routes suitable for children/families with young children?

    Yes, in addition to the 7km route, there will be a 2.5km route targeted at children. Please take note that participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them at all times.

  4. What can we expect at the #RunForChildren?

    There will be interactive games and activities for children and adults alike at the #RunForChildren. Through these games and activities, we hope to raise awareness on the rights that children have as well as how children can be better protected. Kindly take note that this will not be a race; each participant is encouraged to run (or walk) at their own pace.

  5. I would like to register more than 5 runners. How should I go about this?

    Follow these steps:
    I. You may email us at admin@worldvision.com.my to request the group registration form. The form will be sent to you via email.
    II. Fill in the form, and then kindly follow the link in the form to the payment page.
    III. Once you’ve made payment, email the bank-in slip to admin@worldvision.com.my with the subject line “#RunForChildren group-sign up bank-in slip”.

  6. I have just signed up online but how do I make payment?

    At the end of the registration (Google) form, you would have been presented with a link to the payment checkout page. However, if you did not click that link, you may still access this address now – http://bit.ly/WVM_RunForChildrenPayment. Kindly take note that the upper and lower case letters have to be as given in the address.

  7. I have just signed up online. What should I expect next?

    You will receive a thank you email soon after payment has been made. Within two weeks, you will also receive an email from World Vision and a separate email with the official e-receipt. This receipt will need to be printed and presented, along with your Identity Card (IC), during the runner’s kit collection weekend in early April. Details on the kit collection will be announced via email closer to the date. Kindly also take note that changing t-shirt sizes will not be allowed on the day of the collection. Participants must adhere to the t-shirt sizes requested in their registration forms.

  8. I have signed up but will no longer be able to make the #RunForChildren. Can I get a refund/transfer the application to a friend?

    Sorry, once the registration form has been duly processed, it will be NON-TRANSFERRABLE, NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-DEFERRABLE. Completion and submission of the registration form and payment of fees represents the participant’s agreement to abide by the terms and conditions of the World Vision #RunForChildren.

  9. I do not live in the Klang Valley and will not be coming on the day of the World Vision #RunForChildren. Will World Vision be able to post the runner’s kit to me?

    Yes, if you live outside of the Klang Valley, the runner’s kit will be posted to you by early to mid-April 2020. The cost of postage can be found in the table below and will be borne by the participant.
     
    Peninsular Malaysia - Postal rate is RM9.00 per kit

    Sabah/Sarawak - Postal rate is RM12.00 per kit

    You may bank-in the respective amount to World Vision Malaysia’s account (as stated below). Once done, kindly email the bank-in slip to admin@worldvision.com.my with the subject line, “World Vision #RunForChildren postage fee”.

  10. When is the deadline for registration?

    The registration deadline for the #RunForChildren is 20 March 2020. However, World Vision reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without any notice or when the quota for the run is met.

    Additionally, World Vision has the right to cancel, postpone or change the venue, date, and time of this event. No refunds will be given if this event is cancelled on the orders of World Vision due to unavoidable circumstances.

  11. Will there be space for storage of personal belongings on the day of the run?

    There will be storage space facilities for personal belongings at the World Vision booth near the start/finish line. However, please note that all personal belongings stored at the booth will be at your own risk.
