A billion children between the ages of 2 and 17 years experience some form of violence every year.
Meet Rafael, an 11-year-old boy who lives in the Philippines. Rafael is like any other child – he jumps, he runs, he plays. But he doesn’t speak, and nobody knows why.
Rafael does not have a medical condition but his classmates have repeatedly called him “dumb, dumb!” Sometimes they get rough with him too. He doesn’t like being bullied but he can’t stand up against his bullies. The only way to avoid them is to skip school and stay at home.
#RunForChildren and partner World Vision to protect children (like the one on your runner's bib) from experiencing the things Rafael has experienced.
