Ultramarathoner Lim Siaw Hua is hiking across the side of a hill with the headline: Conquering Sahara, Run For Water.

Child sponsor Lim Siaw Hua started running when she was nine, representing her school and state at numerous national competitions. She joined her first full marathon in 2013, completing it in a remarkable time of 4 hours and 41 minutes. In 2014, she took an interest in ultramarathons and has not looked back since, completing many in the short span of five years.

On April 5th 2019, Siaw Hua will embark on a run of a lifetime – the Marathon Des Sables, which has been dubbed ‘the toughest foot race on earth’ and will take her on a 250km journey through the Sahara Desert in Southern Morocco in ten days. Siaw Hua will be dedicating her run to raise funds for children to have access to clean water.

As a mother of two, Siaw Hua knows exactly what a child needs to grow up healthily. One of the most vital things is having clean water for consumption and sanitation. Clean water, proper sanitation and good hygiene practices like handwashing can protect children from water-borne diseases. But not all children have access to the precious resource of water, and Siaw Hua is compelled to support them in getting it.

For the professional quantity surveyor, every run is a new adventure and her upcoming participation in the Marathon Des Sables will certainly be an unforgettable one. Let’s support Siaw Hua as she conquers the Sahara and help children in need!
