 | Some catastrophes are man-made while others, such as floods or earthquakes, strike without warning, claiming thousands of lives in seconds.
Regardless of the nature of a disaster, it is often the poor who are most affected, particularly children and women. World Vision recognises the vulnerability of children in the wake of any disaster and makes their well-being and health a priority when disaster strikes.

| | World Vision's Response
World Vision knows that when disaster strikes, each life, and each second, is precious.
That's why we invest in the following interventions: - Preparation: World Vision stocks relief supplies, trains staff and teaches communities how to respond in the face of disasters.
- Response: World Vision works with other relief agencies and local authorities to rush necessities such as clean water, food, health supplies and shelter items to survivers.
- Rehabilitation: World Vision helps affected communities to rebuild their lives; providing economic assistance and reconciliation in situations of conflict.
