Communications

    Job Description:

    The Communications Executive is responsible for developing and producing engaging, clear and interesting copywriting for a variety of channels; to brainstorm ideas, create concepts and develop messaging according to different communication goals.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Plan and propose engaging copywriting concepts that meet communication goals set out in project briefs, and collaborate with project owners, graphic designers and other stakeholders to execute approved plans
    • Write clear, attractive copy for print & digital mediums including websites, newsletters, brochures, videos scripts, and other related marketing communications materials
    • Edit and proof-read communications materials as needed to maintain accuracy, consistency and adherence to branding messaging requirements and standards always
    • Complete assigned tasks according to stipulated timelines, taking into consideration schedules of third-party suppliers and potential delays
    • Stay updated on creative and communications trends to ensure engaging, timely and relevant copywriting
    • Translate content from other languages (Mandarin/BM) into English when necessary

     

    Qualifications:

    • At least two (2) years of working experience in related field
    • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills in English
    • BSc/BA in Marketing, Mass Communications, English, Journalism or related field
    • Understanding of Chinese will be an added advantage
    • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under tight deadlines
    • Positive attitude, detail oriented with collaborative spirit
    • Able to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment

     

    As a project executive, you support the development, planning and execution of project briefs submitted to the communications department. Efficient and organised, you enjoy turning project goals into clear, achievable milestones for various units to execute.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Assess communication briefs for clarity of purpose, as well as accuracy and adequacy of information provided by project owners.
    • Lead & drive the development of creative briefs and ensure achievement of communication needs & requests according to stipulated timelines.
    • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all relevant stakeholders, including internal creative team members, project owners, vendors etc.
    • Administer everyday operation for projects to ensure creative team and/or vendors adhere to deadlines and budgets.
    • Ensure risks/issues are being tracked and mitigated & resolved. Provides regular status updates on the project plans to all stakeholders.
    • Obtain, evaluate, and process all quotations and invoices to ensure a cost-effective & timely delivery of communication materials.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • At least one year of working experience, preferably with experience in coordinating and managing projects involving creative work.
    • Bachelor’s Degree holder preferably in Mass Communications/Media/Marketing.
    • Good command of spoken and written English & Chinese.
    • Fast learner, able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
    • Certified Project Management skills/knowledge is an added advantage.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good planning skills and the ability to anticipate problems and develop a plan of action to prevent delays in project delivery.

     

Malaysia Programmes

    Job Description:

     

    The Development Facilitator is responsible for planning and implementing Education and Livelihood project and support the implementation of other projects in Tulid Community Development Programme area with the aim of sustained child well-being and community empowerment. 

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Work with communities to identify issues and needs.
    • Implement community development programmes.
    • Facilitate community engagement through group processes.
    • Evaluate, monitor programmes and prepare reports.
    • Build relationship with Government, NGO, FBOs, related partners and community to promote well-being of children in the communities.
    • Enlist the cooperation of government bodies, churches, community organisations and individuals.
    • General administrative duties.

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • Possession of at least a Degree or its equivalent.
    • Knowledge and background in agriculture, horticulture, agro forestry or agronomy.
    • At least one year’s previous relevant experience, including development facilitation in and with communities.
    • Knowledge in child development and working with children.
    • Problem solving and creative thinking skills.
    • Able to work independently and a team player.
    • Good interpersonal skills with different stakeholders.
    • Fluent in Bahasa Melayu and English (oral and written).
    • Able to drive and/or ride a motorcycle and have a valid driving license.

     

    Programme Quality and Development Team

     

    Job Description:

     

    The main role of Health & Nutrition Officer is to ensure evidence-based programming and strong quality assurance of Health & Nutrition projects in World Vision Malaysia (WVM) local programme, by providing technical design and support in the area of maternal child health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene. The Health & Nutrition project is integrated with other projects such as education, child protection and economic development project to ensure holistic and sustainable community development programme.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Provide technical guidance, supervision and quality assurance in the development and implementation of Health and Nutrition projects.
    • Provide capacity building with contextualised training materials on Health and Nutrition projects to field team.
    • Establish or maintain effective partnerships and represent World Vision as needed to promote WVM’s evidence-based Health and Nutrition projects.
    • Capture best practice and actively promote knowledge gained into improving programmes and for knowledge sharing within or beyond WVM.
    • Ensure safeguarding protocols are in-place for all health and nutrition projects.

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • Education Bachelor or Master degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nutrition Science, Dietetics or related field.
    • 2 - 3 years of working experience in in the above mentioned field and/or Community Development preferred.
    • Ability to apply a systems approach to Health and Nutrition programming.
    • Knowledge of local Health and Nutrition issues.
    • Strong planning and project management skills.
    • Strong inter-personal communication and collaboration skills.
    • Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (oral & written).
    • Ability to travel when needed.
    • Knowledge on data analysis software, e.g. Epi Info, SPSS, Python preferred.
    • Appreciates different cultures.

     

Faith & Church

    As a team member of Faith & Church, you are to engage, build, and maintain relationships with churches to raise their awareness and understanding of World Vision’s work. You are expected to mobilise churches to support WV’s programmes in prayers, funding, providing manpower, knowledge and skills.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Contribute to meeting WVM Faith and Church department strategic goals.
    • Plan and execute church relations engagements: networking activities, speaking engagements, and church events coordination.
    • Mobilise Malaysian churches to participate in organisational wide advocacy campaigns.
    • Produce materials that expound and reflect on WVM’s Christian humanitarian work.
    • Plan and coordinate staff spiritual nurture and formation initiatives.

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • Candidate must possess Diploma/Degree in any fields.
    • Possessed knowledge in theological studies an added advantage.
    • Proficient in English and Mandarin languages (written and spoken).
    • Experienced in ministry and team work leadership.
    • Effective communicator and facilitator in building church partnerships.
    • Compassionate towards the vulnerable and passionate to advocating Christians responsibilities in holistic transformation.
