Take a stand against hunger and poverty with one of Malaysia’s largest advocacy and fundraising movements!

Strike Out Hunger!

The 30-Hour Famine is a global youth movement against hunger and poverty. Participants fast for 30 or 8 hours, learn about global issues and raise funds, transforming hunger into hope. Our slogan for the year is “Strike Out Hunger!”. We want to build a world free of hunger with you. We call on all Famine Fighters to never give up, put up a good fight, believe in what is possible and make miracles happen! This year, we have singer-songwriter Victor Wong as our 30-Hour Famine Ambassador. Due to his warm voice, Victor is a well-loved singer of love songs in the global Chinese pop music scene.

The 30-Hour Famine will be conducted fully in-person this year. Famine Fighters of all ages can choose to participate in the campaign through four categories:

30-Hour Famine

Famine Fighters will come together to learn about global issues and fast for 30 hours, to raise funds for those in need.

8-Hour Kidz Famine

A child-friendly version for those aged 12 and below. Famine Fighters will raise funds, fast for 8 hours and participate in age-appropriate activities to learn about global issues.

8-Hour Family Famine

Designed for all the families who want to participate together. No age limit.

Individual Participant

  2. The Community Placement and Case Management (CPCM) Programme by SUKA Society provides safety, permanency and well-being for vulnerable children who do not have any parental care and are at risk of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
  3. Project Always Tell A Friend by Fugee School aims to create awareness of child rights safeguarding against violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect, while creating a safety reporting network within the community.
