On 24 June 2026, two major earthquakes at magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 struck north-central Venezuela less than an hour apart.
As of 2 July, at least 2,295 lives have been lost, 11,267 injured, and the numbers are still rising.
Buildings have collapsed. Homes are destroyed. Power, water, and communications have been cut off. The government has declared a state of emergency as search and rescue teams race against time to reach survivors.
Aftershocks continue to rattle communities as families sleep in the streets. Children, already living in one of the region's most vulnerable countries, now face fear and devastating uncertainty.
World Vision teams are already on the ground with food, clean water, and protection for children.
The need is huge, and every second without help puts more children at risk.
